Near North Side, JeffVanderLou

I’m saddened when I head down Martin Luther King Drive, the former Franklin and Easton avenues, east of Grand.  It seems that it’s the most forgotten part of the city, despite beautiful views of and proximity to downtown.

I think a lot of these buildings were refaced over the years, as the front facades don’t match the back of the houses exactly.

Update: I went back and looked at the house below in August of 2021.

The buildings that once lined the bustling street survive in fragments, and I particularly liked this house below, with its small outside entrance to the basement, where presumably there was once a business.

This little cottage sits on a side street, and beckons a new owner, looking for an economical house with low utilities, post rehab of course.
