Crunden Martin, which was gutted and partially destroyed by a fire back in November of 2025, is now being demolished in earnest. Demolition had begun back in June.
In fact, by the time you see these photographs, much more of the buildings will be gone. I suspect they didn’t save any of the iconic letters from the bridge that many people admired.
This is easily one of the worst losses of the St. Louis built environment.
What a damned shame… I recall back to around 2009 when I was first stationed down in St Louis how awesome the Crunden Martin buildings looked, preserved so well at the time. Breaks my heart to see this…
