East of North Street, Peoria, Part One

I’d looked at some of the streets northeast of Main Street in Peoria before, but this time I went up North Avenue. North Avenue heads to the north just about opposite of High Street, which I’ve looked at twice before, once in September of 2013 and 2019.

These houses date from the early Twentieth Century, but surprises await.

I turned onto Hamilton Boulevard next, and the houses are older, from the late Nineteenth Century, with strong influence of the Queen Anne Style.

I guess this one is still under renovation. The area is very near the Franciscan hospital, so there is creeeping demolition for parking.

But there are some of the most impressive houses, many impeccably renovated, that I have seen in Illinois.
