Grace Lutheran Church first appears in records in 1926 at 6404 Easton Avenue, modern day MLK Dr. in Wellston. I’m a little torn in wondering if there was an earlier congregation in this church, as the architecture seems to suggest an earlier construction date than the 1920s, but I can’t be sure.
By 1960, the Eden and Immanuel Lutheran congregations had taken over the church before they moved on in 1971 further out in to the County. There is a non-Lutheran church in the building today.
It’s a simple brick church, with a belltower that looks like it’s been altered, or at least tuck pointed without mixing the proper colored mortar. Simple, off-the-shelf stained glass fills the massive window on the front facade. It’s a beacon of beauty on a stretch that is otherwise filled with scrapyards.
That address is a typo. This building was constructed in 1900 for Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, with postal address 6406 Easton (now 6402/4 MLK). A 1929 survey of churches recorded that it had a single bell in its tower, but I have not inspected it.

I’m wondering If you ever had any thoughts that maybe they don’t bulld them like they used to because they didn’t actually bulld them? They “founded” them ? I have been researching this for decade and that’s where I’m at. There’s too many narratives that don’t add up and are really a slap in our face.
