Family Farm, Early June 2025

I visited the family farm last weekend, and it’s perhaps evident, if it wasn’t already in the photos of the tornado damage, that the smoke from another natural disaster, the wildfires in Canada, was affecting the sky in the background.

Longtime readers will know that the farm was hit by a tornado back in March of 2023, just a few days after I photographed it, destroying the cattle barn which was to the east of the horse barn, shown here.

There was a relatively small amount of hay in the loft.

Spring planting had occurred, and everything is green, including the pasture across the road, which is still prairie, never having been plowed.

I also stopped by a cemetery on the north side of Washington, which I have seen multiple times over the years but never photographed.
