I’m continually fascinated with the intact building stock surrounding St. Francis de Sales Church on Gravois.? All of the corners at this complicated intersection are intact, save on.? I hope it stays that way.
While photographing the church, I realized that the backs of these aforementioned buildings are fascinating in their own right.? Not meant to be the public face of the buildings, they often times have an interesting character that is unpretentious and often quirky.
Staircases, fenced in yards, and air conditioning units are tucked behind, away from the main streets.
I’m curious why this exterior staircase disappears behind this wall of siding.
