Another obliterated neighborhood in the name of “progress,” another promise of economic prosperity in the face of the reality, another missing piece of our collective heritage. Maybe Menards will agree to tear down the store when it goes out of business or closes?
Do they at least salvage these first? There’s plenty of brick, and probably some stained glass and nice door hardware in many of those.
I didn’t see any salvage efforts going on.
They did not look to be salvaging anything when I was there either.
