Heading north from Romaine Place, I traveled north on Hamilton Avenue towards Dr. Martin Luther King Dr. I could have sworn I’ve been up this section of Hamilton Avenue, but I guess not.

This stately building was the Franke Motor Car Company, constructed for $25,000 in 1925 and designed by Otto J. Kriegg, whose offices were in the Arcade Building. The manager of the company at the time was John Connor.

The large number of wide openings on the first floor make sense that it was built for automobiles. The third floor is a later addition, as it was originally built as only two floors and a basement.

The post office is still open, named after Gwen B. Giles.

Abandoned homes alternate with rows of occupied houses.

This building is now the Tabernacle Church of God in Christ; it was originally the Epstein Motor Company in 1936. We then make it to the Wellston Loop at the corner.
