I’ve watched the slow death of the Hunter Meat Packing Plant for close to four years now, and it’s finally coming down into a pile of rubble, replaced at least for the time-being with a tanker truck lot.
I never liked Hunter as much as Armour, but it still had its charms, from the paper-like slabs of concrete hanging by its rebar, to the smokestack itself.
Presumably, it is finally being torn down to make way for new industrial space or warehouses in anticipation of the new Mississippi River Bridge.
The view of the city from the stockyards is truly spectacular.
Did Hunter hot dogs,ect. get bought out by another brand or just close?
Gene, they had been available at Cardinal games, but I don’t know if they still are. Can anyone else help out? I think for the most part the brand has been discontinued.
Hunter beef Frank’s were the best tasting hot dogs on the planet. It taste was so different. The STL Cardinals baseball was known 4 their hot dogs. WHERE CAN I BUY HUNTER BEEF FRANKS?

You can actually get that still. I got it at the dollar store recently, and I seen at Schnuck’s.
They have been discontinued. HEBREW NATIONAL runs close and is a cleaner hot dog. If yoiu can get a hot dog that’s made in Connecticut and sold in the East But is available online is GROTE WEIGEL of Bloomington CT.

Hunter Hot Dogs used to be available in St. Louis up until relatively recently. I have not seen them in awhile. Can anyone tell me if they’ve seen Hunter Hot Dogs in stores recently?
Hunter products aren’t available in the St. Louis area. I think Hunter was bought out by John Morrell & Co. a time ago.
I also think Hunter was bought out by John Morrell, as well, from some brief research I did.
You can’t get Hunter at the grocery stores even in small towns like Cuba, Bourbon, or Steelville, & they’re down south from Saint Louis in Missouri. Now on the packages it says John Morrell instead of Hunter. I still purchase them, IF they are a good price like Hunter was.
John Morrell meats are soooo salty!!! (HIGH BOOD PRESSURE DANGER) Plus their meats do not taste NOTHING like Hunter meats.

Oh my goodness, Hunter beef hot dogs were the best, I miss them. That’s how I got here, by searching to see if they are still available, bummed they aren’t.
