Update: I went back and visited the block above and below in the fall of 2020 and the summer of 2023 (second and third photos).
I find myself drawn back to the block of identical duplexes on Minerva Avenue in Hamilton Heights between Hamilton and Goodfellow avenues.
Sadly, I think they are almost all abandoned now, if they weren’t already back in 2015 when I first photographed them.
There is still one left that is definitely occupied, and I think like some of the others that held on, the two townhouses were combined together at some point.
You can see that at least the two on the right below have relatively new windows, showing they were occupied until just recently.
I looked at city plat maps, and it seems there were once identical buildings (with of course different details) in all the vacant lots.
I continued on further east, and there is further scattering of occupied and abandoned buildings. There has been a lot of violence in Hamilton Heights during the summer of 2019, and I fear that will lead to more people leaving.
I like to sketch and I once drew a couple of these duplexes!

Very cool, Sara!
