
The Withington House, constructed in 1860, was the home of George and Eliza, and is another typical central hall five bay German house in Florissant.

Auguste Aubuchon House began as a log cabin.

The houses above and below are not the same one, but you can see how common the building type was, where there was a large front porch that stretched the length of the house and may or may not include dormers.

Art and Crafts style houses then became common in the Twentieth Century, and fit in well with the French colonial architecture with the emphasis on the large front porch.

And of course, there are tons of Cape Cods.

Cape Cods are not symmetric front-to-back. Rather,the back is two stories while the front is sone.
