In this week’s most interesting mystery, I was driving down North Market through JeffVanderLou and came across this sight; an in-fill building, built in 2003 by a housing charity, the National Benevolent Association, and abandoned since at least 2008 when I first photographed it, has now sprouted a brand new fence. Why? Perhaps we should ask the owners, Alidhuux Samantar and Hawaa Gulid, of Annandale, Virginia what they’re doing. Survivalist compound to survive the apocalypse?
They’ll need a lot more than a simple wooden privacy fence if they want to protect the house from something.
