Why is street parking not allowed in Laclede’s Landing? It makes the whole neighborhood just look dead, and it’s so funny just watching people drive around in circles on streets where no one can stop or anything. Yes, some of the streets are narrow but the north-south ones aren’t. And how are you supposed to just stop and go run in and buy food or coffee at many of the new businesses popping up in the neighborhood? The new vision for Laclede’s Landing is a more 24/7 residential area, which I always thought was the best use. Pay for parking in a parking lot while you grab a cup of coffee? Come on.

This has been bugging me so much! I feel like I can’t drive into Laclede’s Landing, I can barely bike in with so many obstructions, and I can only walk in from 1 or 2 ways. How can I enjoy a neighborhood if they make it so hard to get to?
Could someone build a 5-level parking garage somewhere nearby? It could be in the style of the old buildings. Brick exterior with a steel internal structure so that people (paying patrons) can come and eat, shop, etc.., there?
I think that longterm there does need to be a decent parking garage to replace the current one (which is condemned for occupancy) and also the one on the Arch grounds that was demolished during its renovations.
