The street grid shifts by forty-five degrees and continues on as we look a Belleville.

There is this large store front that has been filled in with just a door that looks like it’s straight off the shelf from a big box hardware store.

There are more of the three bay wide side gable workers’ cottages which are prevalent in this area.

The house below has two front doors and two addresses, so it seems to preserve its original configuration as a duplex, and probably has a shotgun layout of rooms inside. Note the brick foundation.

Sadly, there is some abandonment in the area.

As I mentioned, the old Stag Brewery was near here, and I looked at the area back in June of 2019.

This street looks off in the distance to the industrial area on the north side of the neighborhood.

Appreciate the recent pictures of Belleville IL. I attended St Henrys seminary formerly on west main street just west of Altoff Catholic High School. Lot has changed since the earl 1960’s. And much hasnt!
