North on Compton Avenue #2: Dutchtown from Keokuk to Chippewa, Revisited

Heading north on Compton Avenue, there is a wide variety of housing, from the mid-Twentieth Century back to probably right after the Civil War. See the east side of the street from June of 2021. You can see the earlier photos of the west side here.

For example, this cottage probably dates to when this area was out in the country.

And this rare half-flounder leans up against a later house.

Then there is a plethora of those one-story houses that I like so much, including this one below with its cornice replaced with what looks to be terracotta tiles.

After the alley we get to the corner with Chippewa, where this Vietnamese grocery store has been located for as long as I can remember.
