Out near the western edges of the city, a certain Baron de Hodiamont lived in the early 19th Century. His house still survives, but his estate was developed over the years into what was a plush residential neighborhood.
There’s the good, the bad, and the collapsed in this neighborhood.
What is interesting is the presence of wood frame Queen Anne Style houses, showing that this area was already developing before city brick structure laws made it out this far.
The area is relatively intact, with some new in-fill, including those two story HUD houses from the 1970s.
The Hodiamont Street Car came through this area, and it is now relegated to oblivion.
Update: See another house from this area in the first image from this post from July of 2018.
