Penrose, Revisited

Tucked away in between I-70 and Natural Bridge Avenue, the Penrose neighborhood seems both isolated and heavily populated at the same time. Yes, there is abandonment, but along the strangely narrow streets, there is a lot of life. There are no major institutions per se, so it is a place probably not familiar to most St. Louisans.

Houses that could easily go for 200K in St. Louis Hills look just like the Gingerbread beauties up this way.

The topography is rolling, and it creates interesting vistas up and down the hills.

This house looks like any other two family building in South City east of Grand.

I love this little apartment building, with its two coal chutes visible on the left wall and a single front door with staircase window up above.
