I have some good news to report about the Second Empire corner storefront at 1000 Morrison Avenue in the LaSalle Park neighborhood which I looked at in June of 2019.
Due to the efforts of Landmarks Association of St. Louis and Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, control of the building has been wrested away from the slumlord who owned the historic structure for many years.
Rehabilitation has already begun and soon it will be restored to its former beauty. The house next door, seen below, is not part of the plan.
Thank You for the update. I was always amazed at how this building became so delapidated . Especially in LaSalle Park. I knew Steven Edmundson who lived at 937 Morrison and remembered how enormous that house was.
