Russell Boulevard, Fox Park, Revisited

Lyon School and North St. Louis 009

Russell Boulevard, passing from Soulard to Grand has some of the most interesting housing stock in the city. It serves almost as a history lesson of St. Louis architecture, crossing through the Nineteenth Century. When these houses were constructed in 1887, Russell’s development had made it to Fox Park. Can you imagine what our city would look like if more of St. Louis boasted such beautiful rowhouses?

Oh, I am an avid “appreciator” of St. Louis buildings and have been since the early 60’s when Landmarks used to give lectures on St. Louis architecture. I follow what I can so am thrilled to find your blog. Keep it up. What a delight!
