Saint Trinity Cemetery on Lemay Ferry at Reavis Barracks Road is a place that I’ve driven by dozens of times, and this time I finally went in and explored.

I’ve always thought the name is interesting, being Saint Trinity instead of Holy Trinity. There is no explanation why that is. The cemetery has a very nice website with an extensive history page.

Unlike the St. Louis Catholic Archdiocese, Lutheran cemeteries such as this one is associated with a single congregation, which in this case is Peace Lutheran Church.

The cemetery dates back to 1863.

As is typical of the area, it is set among gently rolling hills.

This row of trees along the road is a classic German design that is seen in northern Germany, where thoroughfares are lined with linden or beech trees.
