I don’t know why but I decided to continue on San Francisco Avenue, ignoring the “Street Not Thru” sign with a cavalier attitude.

There was a wide variety of houses from many different time periods, which I found interesting considering much of my journey had large blocks of houses built in tracts.

But there was this nice ranch house thrown in the middle of the block.

But these old workers’ houses point to why this block ends in a dead end.

Just to the west of this house is Eugene “Tink” Bradley Park, built on no less than the former Union Quarry, which seems to have specialized in crush rock. I discussed it back in November of 2015.

I backtracked to continue my westward journey on a parallel street.
