St. Augustine’s, Sunset, Early May, 2020

I no longer worry about St. Augustine’s like I did in the past, now that young and energetic people are working to save it. But I realized that I can still continue to come by at sunset and photograph the edifice in all its glory. And I’m no longer going to use the tag “Abandoned Buildings” anymore, either, when covering it, but the “Rehabilitation” tag instead.

Is the rehab starting inside, because I don’t see any exterior progress. Beautiful church, hopefully the rehab will turn things around.

Clearing of rubble on the inside is a priority, in order to remove the stress on portions of the structure that were not built to carry the weight of extra material. There is much going on behind the scenes. The pandemic obviously is not helping things.
