St. Cecilia’s

Update: I returned to photograph St. Cecilia’s in better light in December of 2020.

It’s hard to get a good picture of St. Cecilia’s because the church is surrounded by so many houses.

Which is a good thing, as the neighborhood is still strong, with very few abandoned houses and no vacant lots that I could see.

The church itself is a solid Romanesque Revival church with a wonderfully decorated interior.

This is the Mexican national church of St. Louis in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese.

I used to live up the road on Alaska in the late 90's…Always went running through the neighbor and made sure to pass by the Church…I really did like the neighborhood then and good to see it's still full of life now!

I went to church many a time here, as my grandmother lived on Louisiana. It seemed like a cathedral as a kid! Glad to see that the neighborhood is still strong.
