Designed by John Mauran, and clearly built in two stages that are remarkably consistent, the Old Stix, Baer and Fuller Department Store has been reborn in a wonderful renovation.
Showing influence of both Beaux-Arts architecture as well as the influence to some degree of Louis Sullivan, its renovation also freed it from the sky bridge that once connected it to St. Louis Centre.
One of the best aspects of the renovation is the plywood removed from the windows. It was looking shabby before the renovation.
The National Blues Museum will move into this building as well.
