Tamm Avenue Between Marmaduke and McCune Avenues

Let’s head south on Tamm Avenue, which is perhaps most famous in Dogtown, but here it is an orphan street that also doglegs through this area (if this sentence makes any sense).

There’s these sort of weird Mansard-roofed houses, but I don’t know if I would actually call them Second Empire or not. I guess so? But they’re not standard. Terminal Second Empire? There are more of these down on Bates Street east of Grand.

There are some great Queen Anne Style houses, as we see out in the exurbs.

Turning around and looking at the east side of the street as we head north, there is a similar mix of Queen Anne cottages and large infill.

Then there is this hulking mass, which I quite like. Remember, that whole law about requiring brick construction only inside the city limits is a myth like most of St. Louis history!
