The Beauty of Dutchtown, 56: Oregon Avenue Between Meramec and Gasconade Streets

Crossing over Meramec Street, we head north, looking at the west side of the street. For the most part, the building tend to be from around the same era: the decades before and after the year 1900.

Unlike further to the south, there are more multi-family buildings.

We turn around at Gasconade Street, and proceed south, looking at the east side of the street where there is a corner storefront. Not surprisingly, the large plate glass windows have been replaced with siding, as so often is the case.

There is some abandonment, but the rich red brick still is in good shape, with the standard Dutchtown housing stock.
