The Priory, Interior

What is there really to say about the interior of the Priory? It is one of the most sublime spaces in St. Louis, and certainly the pinnacle of Modernist ecclesiastic architecture in St. Louis. Designed by Gyo Obata and finished in 1962, the exterior is just as striking. It is a perfect example of how Modernism can be inspiring, elegant, versatile and timeless.

Truly, one of the most brilliant and important works of architecture on the planet. It also has really nice acoustics for choral music. My wife and I have seen the St. Louis Chamber Chorus here twice; always a pleasure.
