Modernism crept into the Ville a little bit, with this cool apartment building, which interestingly would have probably faced another building in close proximity, and not the current vacant lot. The porches on the end are what make this building unique.
Meanwhile, more to the northeast, there’s this interesting, and very sturdily built house that looks like something that should be in the suburbs.
The Ville was still clearly a vibrant neighborhood well through the 1960’s, it seems.
I just gave your site a shout-out in a post about a commute in st louis (county) and the 1930’s daniel boone bridge being replaced. I enjoy your blog!
Thanks! I’m planning on trying to get out there.
Interesting location, is that still standing? Reminds me of an abandon apartment complex in Dlemore.
Should be.
