After I featured Vine Grove Avenue in two posts (here and here) back in January of 2019, the City began to demolish a large number of the abandoned houses on the one block long street in autumn of the same year.
I wondered what had been going on since that time in this isolated corner of the Greater Ville since that time, and the answer is relatively simple: a whole lot of grass and weeds have been growing.
We see another example of a random mailbox left behind like we saw recently in Old North.
This house holds on, despite being abandoned for years now.

Can’t believe that window AC is still there.
Our family home was 3004 Vine Grove for many years. We were the second generation there, our Father, John F. Scott and his parents and siblings were before us. It was a wonderful, safe environment. Our street was filled with African American families whom worked hard and wanted more for their children. It was a wonderful childhood.
Thank you for sharing; it’s definitely sad to see most of the street demolished now.
