Wells-Goodfellow #30, 5500 Block of Hebert

Continuing east from the old Horseshoe area, again we were confronted with a paradox: rows of intact, relatively well-preserve houses, but few people are left.

But it gets better, as all of the sudden, the two-families seem to be occupied, their occupants’ cars sitting out front.

I was captivated by this building; its plywood is weirdly sliding down, but then look at that little detail of the green glazed brick on the staircase.
