Samotus Baerlocher, possibly a Swiss immigrant lived at this address in the Nineteenth Century. But building records state it was built in 1900. I think it is almost certainly much older than that, considering it is wood frame construction. But the foundation doesn’t look like rubble construction. Or was it Joseph Huettick who lived here and died in 1912? There almost certainly was another house on the vacant lot to the west. Sanborm maps make the situation all the more confusing; there was a smaller wood house at 1008, and then two red brick houses at 1010 and 1012, which are now taken up by the right side of this house and the side yard. How quickly things are forgotten.
