We continue to look at the Carr, Adams & Collier Company buildings and some of their neighbors, many of which have already been rehabbed successfully, or await redevelopment. We looked at more yesterday.
The building below, I believe, was a power plant.
I like this reuse of the bridge between buildings, which has been done in St. Louis, as well.
The final building was the last company office building.

Was that area ever abandoned and allowed to decay like similar places in st louis?
My understanding is that many of these buildings sat abandoned for a very long time. Some were used for less intensive uses for decades, as well.
Carr, Adams and Collier became Caradco and moved to Rantoul, IL. They were a successful wood windows manufacturer until Winco bought them. Windows still operates the state of the art high teach plant at Rantoul.
Jeld Wen is same as Winco
