Crossing South Spring Avenue, we reach the final block in our survey of Botanical Avenue in the Shaw neighborhood.

The first house on the corner is an impressive example of what I might call almost Tudor Revival or Jacobethan in style.

Interestingly, it also appears to have been originally built as a two-family flat.

The rest of the houses are a mix of elaborate single family houses and apartment buildings, as would be expected elsewhere in Shaw.

I discovered that local luminary Sarah Truckey lives on this block, as well.

The street, like most east-west streets in Shaw, is blocked off and a seemingly largely empty telephone building marks the corner with South Grand Boulevard.

Looking back, Botanical Avenue stretches out to the west.

How have I NEVER noticed that turret house?? Also, I love how some builders so discreetly made 2-family buildings look like single-families.
