Boyd Plantation, Towne Park

Moved and restored after a disastrous fire, the Boyd Plantation house is now the centerpiece of Towne Park near Foristell in northern St. Charles County.

It sits in a broad swath of open land east of Highway 63 on land donated by the Towne family.

You approach it from the north where you can see a rebuilt summer kitchen to the east.

The house is simple, with flat lintels over the windows and doors, but you can see that they are slightly pedimented above.

There is a service wing out the back with a porch where many outdoor housekeeping activities would have taken place such as cleaning rugs.

There are two log cabins, including one that is called the Siedentop House.
