To my readers: I am safe from the tornado, but many others are not. Please keep them in your thoughts. In the future, when it is appropriate, I will survey the damage to the historic neighborhoods devastated in this tragic event.
I found myself going back up Church Road in Baden again after I had just been in the area back in September of 2024, though this time I went further north.

Up ahead is the spire of Our Lady of the Holy Cross, which was a German parish originally. I looked at it back in February of 2018.

Otherwise, things look largely the same.

I had been in this section of northern Church Road in March of 2018, as well.

I found myself up here just yesterday and walked Church Road as well. It’s hard with the tornado and I was glad to find a volunteer opportunity nearby on Monday. I can’t believe I’ve been walking these neighborhoods affected and now I’m seeing the same houses on the news and in photos and I can recognize them but also I can’t. Today’s volunteer efforts took me in the tornado’s direct path and it was hard to see. In time maybe I’ll be ready to walk and photograph again in those areas but like you, I’m not ready.
