Update: The first pictures are from Alice Avenue, which I revisited in December of 2019.
There is so much beautiful architecture in the O’Fallon neighborhood, the area to the southwest of the park that was once the estate of John O’Fallon. While many of the pictures in this post are grim, the vast majority of the houses are well maintained and occupied.
These streets border College Hill, which is beset by abandonment and vast vacant lots.
Perhaps these houses along Warne are an illustration of how healthy, middle class neighborhoods can be affected by the abandonment nearby areas.
But then, just a block north, we have this absolute gem, in perfect condition, showing the potential of this neighborhood, and what we can still save with investment in these communities.
