Crossing the street to the south side of Russell Boulevard, and walking west of the Hutcheson Arms, at first we see similar houses–though if you look closely you realize it is really a two-family flat.

Then we arrives at a row of amazing four-family flat apartment buildings, clearly designed for a well-to-do clientele. Sometimes these were apartments for bachelors, with only one bedroom buy plenty of spacious room for entertaining and maintaining an upper class lifestyle before settling down.

They have been carefully rehabbed and look great, and help to dispel the negative reputation of four-family buildings in St. Louis.
