It’s a little late, but here are the odds and ends for the summer of 2026. Above, I snapped this photo of the wall of industry you spot as you pass under the Bellerive Bridge into Carondelet southbound on Broadway.

Above is the vanished Twenty-First Street Bridge over the Mill Creek Valley. It is one of the few viaducts over the railroad tracks that was not replaced when modernization began in the later Twentieth Century.

I could never get a good photograph of the remaining buildings of the Aluminum Ore Company, which once had its own company town, Alorton. That municipality joined into the recently created Cahokia Heights.

Also, we see this house, which William Swekosky labeled the Taylor Blow Residence, but it is in Tower Grove East. I want to find out more about this.

We also checked in on the Katherine Dunham House and Museum. I hesitated on whether I should post this or not, but there is a chain link fence up around the property and the social media posts for the museum are now all three years old. I’m worried.
