Franklin Park and East of Downtown, Bloomington, Illinois

Bloomington’s east side possesses a wealth of architecture, well maintained, healthy and classic. Here are some of the houses I saw. Heavy on the Italianate, and then on the Queen Anne Style, as many Illinois towns are, I was interested in the apparent lack of Second Empire architecture, which of course is so popular in St. Louis.

    Beautiful homes

I was in that neighborhood a few months back and it appears that several homes are now split into several units (probably to support the university nearby). The homes really are fabulous though even with several entrances.

I think the people who own the castle like house get a lot of unwanted visitors, they had a “no trespassing” sign in their front yard when I was in the neighborhood (not trespassing of course!)
