Update: I went back to Holy Cross in 2017 and 2018, and St. Matthew’s in 2016.
I love Gothic Revival architecture, and there’s plenty of it in the city. The legacy of the Lutheran church continues in the still open Holy Cross and the now closed St. Matthew’s.
St. Matthews was not a Lutheran Church in 1949. It is where I had my Confirmation. I’m not sure anymore, but I think it was an Advent Evangelical Congregation. So glad they haven’t torn it down. It is a very pretty Church
Many of the Evangelical, Evangelical Lutheran and Lutheran churches in St. Louis either joined the United Church of Christ or the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod in the last fifty years. Some have stayed or joined the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
Sorry, do you by chance know actual address?
