Wait – it was the Pond Hotel that was demolished, right? The Pond Inn is the building just west of it at the intersection of Old Manchester and Pond Rd.
Yes, it was the Pond Hotel; I corrected it above.
Alas, the lul in teardowns due to the recession has ended everywhere as new construction begins to crank back up for real. I fear that we are about to see an orgy of demolition like never before as pent up demand spurs greedy developers who have been sitting on their hands for the last few years.
It seems inconceivable that a century from now anyone will be paying homage to parking lots and strip malls…
