
North of Pestalozzi, there is an interesting mix of houses past the corner store that appears to have been converted into an apartment.

It is a quiet street because it dead ends at Magnolia Avenue.

I’ve looked at many of the oldest houses on the next block, back in September of 2015, including the one below.


A Second Empire house like the one is very rare for Tower Grove East, as the area was still relatively rural and working class when these types of houses were being built further to the northeast.


Then we make it to Magnolia, where there is a more typical corner storefront for this area.
