
I was up on the bluffs on Moss Avenue in Peoria, which I’ve looked at before back in July of 2021, here and here.

Then I realized, wait a minute, this house below looks familiar, so I turned off Moss Avenue and went north on Cooper Street.

I went up to Callender Street, and discovered that there were many nice houses, though not as elaborate as the ones right along the bluff line.

Some are quite large, and a fair number are a mix of Shingle Style and Queen Anne Style, which was popular in the 1880s and 90s.


There are some brick houses, but the majority are wood frame.


At some point I ended up on West Barker Avenue, and spotted this building which is now part of Bradley University.

It seems to have originally been built as a Christian Scientist church.


There are some more nice houses, such as this Shingle Style house below.
