3039 Doctor Martin Luther King Drive

I’ve always really liked this house, and how it tells a story through the layers that have been revealed over the years. I’ve photographed it at least once, back in 2012 (fourth picture down) and maybe more than that, but what is most striking about that almost decade-old photo is that the Formstone hasn’t fallen off yet to reveal the gray “lava rock” underneath. Also, you can see the preserved hexagonal slate roof tiles underneath.

Down below, you can see there are two front doors, but also another door to the lower right, where there was probably a business in the basement. Out back, just visible to the left, there is an alley house. There must be so many stories behind this building.

Looks to have been occupied in the 2012 photo…maybe still is? Looks like the windows are intact. I also find it interesting that there is a streetlight on each side..

Interesting…maybe it was almost a decade ago. But I’m pretty sure it’s abandoned now.
