It’s been eight years since the arson that struck St. Louis Place along Hebert Street. There are still so many beautiful houses left, it’s a shame to see them crumble away. There seems to be some work on the house above, happily.
The undergrowth is starting to take back over again this spring.



Am not sure if this comment will reach Chris; Reference is made to photos published regarding Hebert Street – what are the addresses of the photos. I do not live in St. Louis, but my family history is North St. Louis………..
Laura, the first photo is the south side of the 2200 block, the second is on the 2500 block, just west of the corner with N. 25th St., and the last one is now gone.
Any chance you have pictures of 2349 Hebert St? Old STL Business Directorys show the property at this address once housed a confectionery and ice cream bricking machine co owned by Edward J. And Lillian C. Retzbach. Thank you for your time and possible reply.
