I wonder how well the interior was sealed against water entry?
    I found a short bio: http://www.oac.cdlib.org/findaid/ark:/13030/tf6d5nb1qm/entire_text/

I forgot – according to the cemetery’s records, his wife and two daughters are there, along with another female and male Bacon . The daughters and wife are named in the above link, but the son is not ? ? ?
After all of the time in California and his donations to UC-Berkeley, he chose to return here; odd.

Henry Bacon’s banking partner in San Francisco was Henry Haight, for whom the neighborhood near Golden Gate Park and the University of San Francisco was named, The Haight. Of course, this neighborhood includes the intersection of Haight – Ashbury, ground zero for hippies about 40 years ago and still a strong outpost of counter culture . Locals only refer to the area as “the Haight”.

Wow – I saw that in the bio above, but it went right over my head – but not in a cloud of “fumes”…
