Magnolia Avenue Between Virginia and Tennessee Avenues, North Side

I took a walk down Magnolia Avenue in Tower Grove East. There is a wide variety of different housing styles, and even a wonderful music school on the corner with Virginia, The Music Room.

Interestingly, below, on the left is a house that looks like a two-family, and on the right is a two-family that looks like a single family house.

What has also happened in this neighborhood as the need for corner stores has declined is that many have been converted into residential for people who desire the large windows of former commercial spaces, such as we see below on the left.

While many buildings on corners address both elevations, many do not, as we see below in this late Second Empire house below.

And there are many houses with missing cornices where brickwork has replaced them.
