Crossing Thurman, we see more apartment buildings and houses.

This first one is perhaps more reminiscent of the U-shaped buildings of Chicago that are so prevalent, but not so much in St. Louis.

But as I often remind readers, apartments in St. Louis, no mater how complicated they look, are usually just four- or six-family flats lined up next to each other.

We see another mid-century Modern building that stretches the length of the block next, as is typical of many lots.

Then there is a row of some very elaborate houses next, with long yards in the back, but again no garages are left, if they ever existed, on the alley.

Then there’s this interesting J-shaped apartment building.

I was hoping you’d talk about the very interesting Hortus Ct. I’ve never seen a setup with houses all leading to a path that leads to the street, like a pedestrian only cul-de-sac. What’s the deal with this?
I now see this is a 2 part series… Carry on.
