Mary Brown Center, Lincoln Park, East St. Louis, Revisited

I looked at the Mary Brown Center back in November of 2024, but this time we examined the building more closely.

We noted cool little details such as downspouts that emptied into planters, which sadly were weed-choked, but I could imagine if planted with flowers must have looked great.

Also, we examined the roof of the geodesic dome and its similarity to the railcar repair dome in East Alton, as well as the Climatron.

    Dear Naffziger:
The next time you are in the Old North, please consider recording the exterior and interior of the Marx Brothers Hardware Store. It’s been there since 1875 and continues to be run by two Marx brothers, descendants of the original brothers. That has to be the oldest hardware store in America.
