The first one hundred feet of the quiet one block stretch of Michigan Avenue between Meramec Street at St. Anthony of Padua, and Gasconade Street at Marquette Park near the pool house, seems normal enough for the neighborhood of Dutchtown.
But then, wow, you’d think you’ve been transported to St. Louis Hills! There is a glorious stretch of four-family flats built in what could be described as an early Modern style, all at the same time in 1948. There is no evidence of anything having been built here before, unless a savvy former resident knows.
